The Lido by Libby Page

If you want to improve your English, you have to read The Lido. I was just moved to London and I remember I was looking for something easy to read. A passionate story, something to motivate myself in a new city, a book to know more about London. In my first book club I can’t not speak about it.

Joyful.

Lovely.

Tender.

Friendship.

Full of heart.

The Lido is a celebration of community and friendship. Reading this book, you will love London, you will love relationship and you will fall in love.

Kate is living in a city that is too big for her. But life comes with expectations, there are a, choices to be made and boxes to tick. And when she mets a new friend, Rosemary, her life and her career start to shine. When the lido was threatened with closure, Kate sees in this story a chance to born again but for Rosemary it could be the end for everything. The two women together will demonstrate how the closure of the pool is more than one place to swim.

To all those who ask me how I’m improving my English, my answer is: read The Lido.

Perfect to be read at the park or when you are relaxing, this book is the right compromise between an english grammar, a friendship outside the line…

Here you can buy the book.
